At the present scenario, the job of flight attendant is known as very exciting and fascinating career. Flight attendant’s main responsibility is to ensure safety and comfort of passengers of the aircraft. Flight attendants are also known by the name of cabin crews, air hosts, and air hostess etc. The responsibility of flight attendant is not limited to customer service but they also ensure that all passengers enjoy their journey in a pleasant way. These attendants are very well aware about the rules of international safety and security regulations.

Planes having seats for about nineteen passengers do not require any flight attendant, but for larger planes where there is a seating for about fifty passengers there is a need of one flight attendant. Before every flight, flight attendant takes a meeting with pilots and other member in order to ensure complete safety and security. During this brief meeting they go over emergency checklists, locations, and how much amount of emergency equipment they require etc. It is very much necessary for a flight attendant to conduct checks after every twenty to thirty minutes.

Flight attendant uniforms are designed in such a way that they arouse confidence among the passengers; they are durable and practical etc. In past, most of the flight attendant wore green capes, nurse’s shoes, green berets etc. Flight attendants of Eastern air lines wore uniform that was very much similar to nurses' uniforms. When we talk about the flight attendants of military airlines then we can find out that they wore jackets, skirts with simple lines, hats, brass buttons, and epaulettes etc.

Flight attendant uniforms for both summer and winter were different, with difference in colors, and fabrics. They were used to wear navy blue color uniform in summer and khaki uniform in winter. But now the role of women grew a lot, most of the airlines companies have realized the importance of publicity for this reason flight attendant uniform is now coming in various types of fabrics and colors promoting company and its logo. Flight attendant has to groom a lot, so it is expected from a flight attendant to use good quality cosmetics, and they must be having good personal hygiene. All these things offer the airlines a very positive representation.

Every airline has some rule and regulation for uniform that are worn by pilots, ground and cabin crew. Mostly all members wear formal dresses. Most often flight attendant uniforms include light gray skirts, dark gray trousers, Ike style jackets etc. All the dresses of all flight attendant are made of same fabric the reason for this is, it maintain some kind of uniformity. There are many manufacturers who are manufacturing fabrics for these uniforms, and all the airlines are using best brands for the uniforms of their crew members. Formal uniform that are worn on passengers runs are with sky-blue ties. Sometimes Camouflage shirts are worn by flight attendants.

Members of female crew can wear only one pair of earning but that earning should match with the dress; they should not be more then half inch. Members of male crew are not allowed to wear earrings. Flight attendants nails should be clean and tidy and their size should not be more then half inch. Flight attendant uniforms should be clean and tidy.
