Tattoo has different meanings according to different people, some says it's a form of an art, some says its culture, men says it's proving masculinity, and for the women, it would be for fashion purposes. Even though the meaning of tattoo differs from culture to culture, the only thing in common is that, it is widely used among all the countries of the world. Since tattoo is very popular nowadays, many see its potential for high income that is why a lot of people want to become a tattoo artist. But becoming a tattoo artist is not an easy thing to do, if you want to be successful as an artist, you must need to be serious in acquiring the skills and competence that the other successful tattoo artists have. If you are planning to become a Tattoo artist, first you should know for yourself whether you are able to draw or not. This requires talents and skills in drawing and even coloring inside the lines, if you don't have it, then it's hard for you to become a good tattoo artist. Being creative and imaginative is very important in this field.
You need to really work things out and prepare yourself by attending to art classes, or learning and socializing from other artist, learning different techniques from books, and of course a whole lot time to practice everything. Money is a great factor in becoming a tattoo artist because without it, you cannot get apprenticeship, which is very important in your journey as a tattoo artist; remember that it would take years for you to be under an apprentice so that you will learn the basic and skillful manner in tattooing. And without money, you cannot sustain the materials that you will be using in your trainings and in the actual scenes.
You exercise your skills by putting everything on a paper and compiling your best designs on a portfolio of your own work. One needs a lot of dedication, passion and patience because you will be permanently applying images on other people's bodies, and you will be dealing with the demands of your customer. Lastly, placing tattoos needs to be done in a very careful manner because you will be inserting a needle with an indelible ink towards the dermis layer of the skin. One risk of tattooing is infection, if it is done not with sterilized equipments, so it really pays to be careful all the time.
After all, being a tattoo artist boils down to passion, determination, skills, and attitude. If you have these, then expect that you will get a higher chance of becoming a tattoo artist. |
